Don’t crucify me for featuring Louis Vuitton bags, I’m just the messenger– this showed up in my inbox and had to share! Wow, did they really bedazzle each logo with sequins? Imagine the labor… I’m tired just thinking about it. The Speedy Gold above is $2,160 (hefty!) and love the new handles. The Alma Eclipse ($2,470) in black sequins is quite eye catching. You have to admit they are getting really creative with the iconic monogram. MJ said he was inspired by Parisian muses of great creators.

The Victorie de Castellane, the Loulou de la Falaise, the Betty Catroux… all these people that I remember that were just about the joy of getting dressed. The joy of being a woman, the joy of being a girl, the rebellion of saying “I don’t care what’s going on, “I’m just going to have a good time. Maybe it’s a little Marie Antoinette too.

Marc Jacobs played with fabric on the bags just as he did with the RTW (which I’m obsessed with by the way, LV Bags ready to wear is friggin’ hot!). What do you think of the Speedy Gold Sequin? Snob or Slob?

I hope that just because her show was recently canceled British import Alexa Chung won’t be disappearing from the U.S. party scene. She is always — love ‘em or hate ‘em — in the most eye-catching outfits and she clearly has a love for fashion and a distinctive point of view.

The bag Chung is carrying would work great for anyone who is fashion-conscious and travels a lot for business, but the price is too steep I would’ve guessed just under $2,000 vs the actual price which is over $4,000 after taxes, and I personally wouldn’t pay a premium for an louis vuitton purses just because it was designed by Coppola.

Perhaps as a collector’s item I could see this as being an investment piece, but it’s just so unbelievably tacky I think I would laugh out loud at myself if I wore it out in public.

I get that they were probably trying to channel Sprouse’s uptown-meets-downtown aesthetic by crossing the monogram and the pleats with the leopard, and the chain, but the result just looks like a practical joke…Slob!

In a show with such an astounding number of beautiful handbags, I barely know where to begin. Who would have thought after last season’s tribal tassel disaster that Marc Jacobs would come up with such a feminine, pretty, and functional collection of handbags at Louis Vuitton Handbags. I would have been the last one to guess it – in fact, I remarked to a friend last week that I was barely even looking forward to the Vuitton show.

But that’s the genius of Marc Jacobs. Just when you think that you’ve got him pegged, when you think that you know what he’s going to do and how you’re going to feel about it, he veers off in the opposite direction at full speed and gives you the last thing you could have ever thought he would come up with.

This season, he took us straight back to 1940s France, with tea-length tweeds, tailored waists, and bosom-hugging dirndls. The look reminded me of the French farm girls in the opening sequence of Inglourious Basterds, but with an obviously high-end, Parisian twist. It was a beautiful collection, made only more beautiful by the gobs and gobs of gloriously detailed, traditionally wrought handbags in every material that one could imagine: crocodile, ostrich, leather, fur, lace, satin, beads, you name it.

Almost all of the bags were plays on the traditional Speedy shape, with a few wristlets thrown in for good measure. Many Louis Vuitton Purses fans have been lamenting the loss of a certain amount of traditional from the staid fashion house – for those customers, this collection is a shot of sunshine straight from handbag heaven.

The combination of gorgeous girls in sexy lingerie and free-flowing wine gave a lot of men reasons to smile at the La Perla presentation. I however was more enamored by the A-list fashionistas in attendance — Georgina Chapman, Rachel Roy, Maggie Rizer, and Margherita Missoni sporting the Louis Vuitton SC Suede Asphalt Bag all mingled in the claustrophobically-packed Chelsea space.

A number of celebs, including Alexa Chung, have worn the Sophia Coppola-designed louis vuitton bags in the past few months and it wasn’t all the surprising to see Missoni opt for it. Though she’s the heiress to the Missoni brand, she seems to favor monochromatic looks over loud prints when making public appearances. I’m liking how she’s styled for the presentation – the simple bag balances her eye-catching hat well.

The Asphalt is made from suede leather and was inspired by the speedy. All that good stuff said, while it’s soft, roomy, and has a convenient extra strap, it lacks the bells and whistles that would make it worthy of the price point for someone on any sort of a budget.
